Conversations with Connor

Ok, so I totally suck at blogging... when was my last one, like a month ago?? LOL I will try to be more diligent...

So my adorable 4 3/4 year old son Connor is just so funny. Johnny and I have the most interesting conversations with him :) Here are a few of the latest...

*So Johnny says "I'm so tired" and then Connor says "Me too" (yawn) "Did you see the breath come out of my mouth?" LOL!! So Daddy says, "Honey that's called yawning!" hehe...

*We just opened up a new account at a credit union, so I decided to empty the boys' piggy banks, and open them each a savings account. Connor asked what I was doing with all of his money, and I told him, "We're opening up a savings account for you at the bank." "For what?", he asks. "So you can save your money." "For what?" hehe.. "Well maybe you want a car one day." "Oh yeah! Maybe I can get a Herbie!......... or how about a Corvette!?" Hahaha Connor... I told him to keep saving :D

*Johnny was reading Connor a bedtime story, and when he has done reading it was quiet for a moment, and Connor said, "See Daddy it's night time... do you hear the sound of night?" Johnny was a bit confused, and asked what he meant. Well, Connor's window was open, and the sound of crickets were coming through, so he said, "Listen Dad, those sounds- that means it's night time!" :) Too cute...

* I was putting some Neosporin on all of Connor's many owies, and he suddenly says, "Mom, you have a lot of owies on your arm- put some medicine on your arms." Confused (because I DON'T have any owies on my arm), I ask him where. So he points to all my freckles!! LOL And I do have a lot of freckles... so I had to explain those. And he doesn't have any at all, he didn't really get it ;P

That boy is just too darn cute for words. I love him so much!

A Fun Day at the Lake

So last Saturday my sister invited us to go to Lake Tahoe for the day. It was gorgeous, so why not?! Gotta take advantage of this nice weather while we can, ya know? Changes so quickly here in Northern Nevada... like by the minute.. LOL!

We found a nice spot on the beach, and set up our stuff. The lake was pretty cold, but there were these 2 big pools of water (basically big muddy sand puddles) in the middle of the beach, that were perfect for the boys to splash around in. Quickly lathered up the boys in sunscreen and they were off to play. Didn't even have time to get their shirts off! Started settling into my book (Twilight, of course, which I am currently obsessed with!) Not soon after, Connor came up to us saying his shirt was wet, so we stripped it because it was making him a little chilly and send him back on his way. It was such a fun day for all. I had stayed up late the night before made yummy egg salad sandwiches with all the leftover hard boiled eggs from Easter, as well as a fabulous pasta salad (recipe stolen from Kristin!), so we enjoyed a nice lunch.

A Mom and her 6 year old daughter parked about 30 feet from us. After they got settled, Connor went up to the Mom and asked if he could play with her son.... LOL She replied, "Well my daughter is right there!" Haha.... to be fair, so did have a hat on. Gotta love 4 year olds. The kids played in the water and sand all afternoon, and Johnny and Leanna played some football, and I enjoyed my Edward :D hehe

Around 1pm, people start setting up for a wedding, literally about 30 feet from where we were set up. There were white folding chairs, and a bunch of guys went collecting rocks and set up a heart, where the bridge and groom would stand. It looked so sweet! How cool would it be to get married in Lake Tahoe, on the beach?! We were told that the bride was going to be barefoot. :)

We had to pack up around 3, because I had a candle party at Miss Heather's house (yay!) and because we didn't want to disturb the wedding. The boys fell asleep in the car, or course. I even took a little snooze. We stopped at Cold Stone on the way home..... ahhhh pure satisfaction... nothing beats ice cream on a hot day. :D

So I'm in the middle of my party, and I happen to check my phone, and notice a text from Johnny, asking to pick up some Aloe Vera from the store on the way home.... ugh oh. At that moment, my heart dropped. I knew exactly who got burnt. I texted him back saying that we had some in our bathroom, and asked if my baby got burnt.... he said, yes his whole back. UGH!!! We had totally forgotten to put sunscreen on his back after he took his shirt off!! :( I guess Connor told Johnny that his back hurt, so he thought maybe he twisted it or something? Then Connor brought him some sunscreen and asked Daddy to put that on his back, so John tool his shirt off, revealing a bright red back! Yikes... not my proudest Mommy moment. Well, I'll be much more careful the rest of the summer! Poor Connor!

Well, there is my very first official blog. This is kinda fun! Teehee! Look for more to come.... I think there is a way to subscribe to my blog if your interested, and you will get a notice or something each time I post a new one. I am super new to all this blogging stuff, and this site.
